The second Global Bible Month challenge is taking place throughout the month of November, where millions of Christians are encouraged to read God’s Word

Multiple organizations, including Walmart, Hobby Lobby, and the YouVersion Bible App, are collaborating under the Global Bible Month 30-day challenge from November 1-30 with the theme “One Word For The World.” So far, nearly 15 million people and 589 ministries are participating in a 30-day Bible reading challenge, whether through a physical copy of the Bible or a digital app.

Speaking with CBN News, YouVersion Bible App founder Bobby Gruenewald shared that the campaign will be featured in some of the world's most prominent public places.

"We have people that created 30-day Bible plans. I think there are hundreds of our partners that have created special plans for Global Bible Month. We actually celebrate the Bible in Times Square, and Piccadilly Circus in London, and just different iconic places around the world," Gruenewald said.

In addition to launching the first Global Bible Challenge last year, Gruenewald noted that the YouVersion app hit a record-breaking milestone of 1 billion app downloads, and the number continues to increase today. For instance, daily use is up 13%, bringing the total to 18.5 million visitors each day.

According to Gruenewald, growth stems from people seeking truth in a digital age where artificial intelligence has taken precedence in society.

"I don't think it's an accident. I think we have a generation right now, with AI, that is searching for what can be trusted and what is true, and there's nothing like God's Word, and so we see people turning to the Bible during this time as they're trying to understand what is truth," he said.

Gruenewald also stated that he is encouraged that people are turning to the Word of God for answers, given that the app’s most-searched terms this year include anxiety, hope, and healing.

"That's encouragement to me, just because there are a lot of places you can turn to in these types of moments, but the fact that people are turning to God's Word, I feel like, should be an encouragement to all of us," he said.
