Kindness and love are in short supply in this world. That is abundantly clear nearly everywhere we look. The news is full of stories about people doing awful, horrible and horrendous things to one another. Popular social media platforms are full of some of the most hateful, profane and vile things you’ll ever read.

At times, it seems we live in a dog-eat-dog world and everyone is out for themselves and couldn’t care less about their neighbor. But then there are times when people treat one another with unexpected love and kindness, and it restores our faith in humanity, at least momentarily.

A clip posted on social media captures one instance in which someone responded to a stranger with kindness, understanding and gentleness. The video is of a young man who has always wanted to honk a firetruck's horn. While at a gas station, the 11-year-old sees what might be a chance to make his dream a reality.

The young man is overjoyed at the sight of a nearby firetruck and literally jumps up and down. He mentioned that he talked to someone associated with the firemen, who told him that he could wait for the firemen and ask if he could honk the emergency vehicle’s horn.

About halfway through the minute-long video, the young man approaches two firefighters and makes his request. He’s walking with them toward the front of the vehicle, and the horn sounds moments later.

The little guy had the biggest smile once he got back in the car. The firemen could have responded angrily and totally dismissed the young man, but instead, they let him do something he’d wanted to do his entire life.

The woman’s sweet response to her coworker’s frustration wins hearts. The move was an act of kindness that would have caught most people off-guard. Watch the short video to see how one woman reacted when she heard about her coworker’s cold-weather trouble.

No one’s life is perfect, and it never will be because we live in an imperfect, fallen and broken world. Troubling and frustrating situations and circumstances have a way of finding us all. Try as we might to avoid maddening and irritating circumstances and problems, they will often appear at the most inopportune moment.

Of course, not all problems and frustrations are created equal. Complaining how the barista messed up a drink order pales in comparison to someone else losing a loved one or dealing with a life-threatening illness. When considering that situation, some things are not worth complaining about.  

However, in a clip posted on social media, one woman responded when she heard her coworker talk about her frustration with her hair and the weather. The video's text explains the situation and the woman’s issues with her hair, the weather and hats.

“Yesterday I complained to a coworker that I was freezing from my walk to work because I can’t wear a hat with my hair up,” the text reads.

Instead of simply ignoring or blowing off the young woman’s irritation with hats and her hair during the cold weather season, the coworker responded in the sweetest way possible. The text also explains what the young woman came in to find on her desk the next morning as she puts on her unexpected, heartwarming gift.

“Today I came in to this on my desk. She went home last night and knit this,” the text reads.

She received a garment that will cover her ears, forehead and the back of her head without messing up her hair. What a sweet gift!

A 9-year-old’s sweet effort to bring comfort to the homeless warms the hearts of many. The young man was motivated to make bedtime a little more comfortable for those experiencing homelessness. The world is a lost, fallen and broken place. Many people are hurting and struggling because of sin and the problems it has brought upon our world. Many are constantly calling out for help, but sadly, too often, those cries for assistance and aid go unanswered. Instead of offering a helping hand, most people will avert their eyes and act as if someone hurting and struggling right in front of them does not exist.

One young man refused to ignore those hurting and scratching and crawling just to get by. Ty Kolonsky, a 9-year-old native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, offered a helping hand in the form of a brand-new pillow. In the clip posted on YouTube, Ty was motivated to do something after realizing he had multiple pillows and some people had none.

“I had three pillows, and the homeless had none,” he said. “When we’re going through the streets of Pittsburgh, we see a whole bunch of homeless people. And I think about all the stuff they don’t have. I took my money, and I went and bought two pillows.”

But that wasn’t the end of it. Ty’s loving and caring efforts motivated others to get involved.

“And my dad said, ‘Whatever you buy, I’ll double it,’” Ty said. “So, he bought four and my nana offered to buy six, and my mom thought we were done. I told her, ‘No.’

The young man asked his mother to spread the word on social media. The video mentions that Ty collected nearly 130 pillows, 68 pillowcases and four blankets to give to those experiencing homelessness.

What an incredible story! Anyone can make a difference, no matter their age. It is simply a matter of seeing a problem, someone hurting and then working to solve it.

One man’s act of kindness for an elderly grocery store shopper warms hearts. The loving and caring act was captured on camera as the man helped the older shopper transfer his items from one cart to another. Watch the short but powerful video to see the unexpected act of kindness.

This world is often a cold, cruel and uncaring place. Spend enough time in public and around people today, and it would be easy to think that everyone is just out for themselves. Everywhere we look, from the news to our workplaces and the government, this self-centered, dog-eat-dog mentality is on display. Who cares what happens to someone else if I get mine, right?

Well, it turns out that not everyone is just out for themselves. Some people unexpectedly lend a helping hand when they see someone in need. A clip posted on social media proves this.

The video, which the man’s wife captured, shows one man helping an elderly gentleman in the grocery store. The younger man is spotted carefully taking items from the man’s motorized cart into a second cart. They can also be heard conversing and laughing as he does this.

The text that appears in the middle of the screen, explains the situation and what led to the sweet and heartwarming scene.

“I love my husband,” the text reads. “A man’s buggy died in the middle of getting his groceries. My husband ran to get him a new one.”

Showing someone kindness doesn’t require talent or a special skill. It just involves spotting a need and having concern for the well-being of someone else and then acting in a way that fulfills their need. It really is that easy to be kind and show compassion. Everyone can be kind, and this world can never have too much kindness.

Philippians 2:4 “Not looking everyone to his private good, but keeping in mind the things of others.”

One mother took action after she learned that her son had bullied a girl, and what she did is not to be missed. She ensured her son would learn his lesson and never treat someone that way again. Watch the short but powerful clip to see how the mother responded when she heard about her son bullying a young woman.

Everyone wants to be treated with kindness and consideration. Seriously, can you think of someone who would rather receive contempt and hatred than gentleness and sympathy? I’m guessing probably not. Even if you don’t get along with someone particularly well, treating them decently and respectfully is still relatively easy.

You’d have to go out of your way to treat someone negatively, making a special effort. Sadly, that’s what many children do to one another for one reason or another. They bully each other, treating one another horribly. Kids can be ruthless, too. Many seem to have a knack for finding someone’s weakness and continue hitting and pounding on it.

In a clip posted on social media, one mother marched her son, who had said something hurtful to a female classmate, into a store. She gave the young man specific instructions as they approached The Dollar Tree.

“So, when we get in the store, you will pick out something nice for her to take to school tomorrow for her, OK?” the mother said. “And you will write an apology letter, so she knows that you are not raised to say things like that to little girls or anybody, OK?”

Once in the store, the young man looks through the candy aisles until he comes across a candy heart. After returning home, the chocolate heart is placed in a gift bag, and he then writes his letter expressing his remorse.

Because this mother took swift and decisive action, this young man is not likely to bully anyone else. Good job, mom!

Proverbs 22:6 “If a child is trained up in the right way, even when he is old he will not be turned away from it.”

A community banded together to give a mom with cancer her perfect wedding day. A group of people lent their time, talents and money to help a woman experience a special day. Watch the short but sweet and tear-jerking video about a mother battling cancer and how several people did what they could to make her wedding memorable.

There are many terrible, horrible and awful things in this world. Cancer is near the top of that list. It causes nothing but hurt, heartache and pain. Sadly, most people have been impacted by that deadly disease in one way or another.

However, during these horrible situations, something spectacular often happens. People, even strangers, will typically come together, and do what they can to help the patient and their family. Tremendous and moving displays of love and kindness can and often do happen when people are at their lowest. That is precisely what happened when one woman with terminal cancer got married.

A clip posted on YouTube points out that a community raised $20K for Esther and Mike Furches’ wedding.

“Everyone’s donations paid to have that wedding happen, literally everything, because people just wanted to help,” Esther said. “We planned this wedding in a week.”

Later in the clip, Esther mentions that those who attended the wedding were community members. Anyone who had touched and or made even the most minor impact on her life was invited to her wedding, Esther said.

Esther is in a desperate fight for her life. Initially, doctors said Esther was cancer-free in November, but sadly, in December, the cancer had returned in full force. She has been given a year, but she is determined to beat cancer and see her children have children.

The Lord can still perform miracles and is fully able to defeat cancer. Esther and her family certainly need prayers during this time.

A kind passenger treated an entire flight to pizza during an unfortunate delay. It was a pizza party for everyone aboard a delayed flight. Watch the short but powerful video of the pizza being handed out to the passengers on the plane.

Traveling can and often is stressful. Everyone has strict, tight schedules full of things they must complete in a timely manner. Any delay in getting from Point A to Point B will only add more stress to the situation. It doesn’t matter if it’s travel for business or pleasure; being held up for any reason is never enjoyable.

Traveling by plane, especially if you must go a great distance in a short amount of time, is often the most efficient way to travel. But while it’s arguably the quickest method of getting from one place to another, delays do happen for one reason or another. They are never fun, but what can you do about a delayed flight? Absolutely nothing.

In a clip posted on YouTube, one passenger on a delayed flight tried to make the best of a bad situation. The passenger splurged on pizza, buying it for everyone on the plane—what a generous, loving and unexpected move.

The text in the video states that the plane had been delayed for more than four hours. The reason for the delays was unclear, but it likely did not matter to the passengers by that point. They were likely beyond frustrated. However, someone stepped in and tried to do what they could to improve the situation for everyone involved.

The video shows flight attendants handing out the pizza to the seated passengers. What is noticeable is everyone shown in the video has a big smile. Even though they were delayed for several hours, they still appeared to be in good spirits. Pizza is powerful and can do wonders, even putting people aboard a delayed flight in a good mood.

Prayer for all of us to have a NEW MIND

An elderly man was brought to tears when an entire Cracker Barrel sang him “Happy Birthday.” The show of love and kindness overwhelmed the gentleman and caused him to become emotional. Watch the unexpectedly sweet musical performance that caused the elderly man to shed some tears.

Many people do not celebrate or recognize their birthdays; some may even get upset if you acknowledge the day of their birth. Of course, that’s because a birthday is essentially the ultimate sign of aging. Honestly, who wants to be reminded that they are another year older? Most people, as it turns out. 

But then again, aging is a process that none of us have any control over or say so about. Since human beings have yet to come up with a way to stop or rewind time, we might as well enjoy getting older. Celebrate that birthday, enjoy a piece of birthday cake or go out to dinner on your big day. Do something to commemorate and remember yet another birthday!

In a clip posted on social media, a man celebrating his 89th birthday at Cracker Barrel received a special surprise. The video shows the elderly gentleman sobbing at a table as everyone in the restaurant sings to him, “Happy Birthday.” What a lovely display of love and kindness that obviously meant a great deal to the birthday boy.

While he likely touched and moved that a group of strangers cared enough about him to perform “Happy Birthday” for him, I suppose he could have become emotional for other reasons. Maybe he was horrified by the collective musical performance. Or maybe (and this would be me) he was terribly embarrassed and upset that someone in his party had told the staff at Cracker Barrel that it was his birthday.

Psalm 71:9 “Do not give me up when I am old; be my help even when my strength is gone.”

A group of Disney World employees delivered smiles despite a power outage. They did not let an unfortunate power outage keep them from entertaining and making a memorable experience for several youngsters. Disney World is routinely described as “The Most Magical Place on Earth.” The four Disney parks in central Florida – Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, EPCOT and Animal Kingdom– are destinations for people all over the world. Where else can you ride some of the most classic rides and interact with some of the most beloved fictional characters ever?

While the rides, characters, iconic food and Cinderella's castle in Magic Kingdom help make Disney World a beloved destination for families, something else sets those four theme parks apart from every other park in the world. The difference is that Disney World employees consistently go above and beyond to help ensure families have the time of their lives while visiting those theme parks.

In a clip posted on social media, a handful of Disney World workers were captured doing just that for some young visitors. Several young women dressed in pirate garb were working the classic Pirates of the Caribbean ride when a power outage occurred at the Magic Kingdom. Of course, without power, the attractions cannot function. This did not stop these women from doing what they could to make the best of a bad situation.

The video shows the young ladies singing, dancing and acting out what guests see and hear when riding the attraction. But they did not stop there. They had even created a boat out of tape on the ground where several little ones sat and took in the young women’s show.

Although those children may not have ridden Pirates of the Caribbean, they will likely remember those young ladies and their sweet, heartwarming efforts for the rest of their lives.

One young woman’s emotional surprise leaves her stepmom overwhelmed and in tears. The stepmother was not expecting such a personal and heartwarming gift from her stepdaughter. Being a parent is one of the biggest and best blessings anyone can experience on Earth. As every parent will tell you, there is nothing like watching your youngster grow and learn. However, no blessing or gift comes with more responsibility than being a mother or a father. Parents are responsible for teaching, guiding and protecting their children.

When most people think of becoming parents, they immediately think of having biological children. However, for many couples, that is not a possibility, and so they explore other means of becoming parents, particularly through adoption. Adoption is incredible and desperately needed today, as many children need good, safe and loving homes.

In a clip posted on YouTube, a stepdaughter gives her stepmom an emotional and life-changing gift. The young woman presented her stepmom with the gift of motherhood. It’s a moment that will surely bring a tear to everyone’s eye.

The clip starts with the stepmom opening the gift while commenting on how much she loves the wrapping paper. Eventually, she unwraps the gift and starts going through the box’s contents. It’s filled with large pieces of paper with short, succinct messages on them.

The stepmom quickly goes through the pieces of paper until she reaches the final one, which causes her to become emotional and brings tears to her eyes. In the box, the stepdaughter has included adoption papers. She has asked her stepmom to officially and legally become her mother.

The stepmom tries to say something, but the beautiful gift renders her speechless. The clip ends with the two in a warm and loving embrace.

A woman and her husband opened their hearts and home by adopting her little brother. She stepped up in a big way and adopted her half-brother, who was placed in foster care. Watch this short clip to see and hear about this sweet, tear-jerking story. Make sure you have the tissues nearby.

Being a parent and adding a little one to your home is one of life’s greatest blessings. Nearly every mother and father would wholeheartedly agree with this assessment. None of them would go back to a time without their children for even a second. Children change your life in every way imaginable for the better.

However, having children biologically is not the only way to grow your family. There are a ton of youngsters who need and deserve good, loving homes and a place where they feel safe and protected. That’s why foster care and adoption are so critical. But, as anyone who has ever gone through that process knows, it is not easy. It is quite literally a journey with many ups and downs along the way.

A video posted on YouTube tells of one young woman’s sweet journey to adopt her half-brother and the struggles and heartaches she endured along the way. At just 19 years old, after her half-brother was placed in the foster care system, Hannah Robinson started down the path of adopting him.

“People didn’t take me super seriously at the start, for sure,” Hannah said. “I mean, I was only 19, so I do understand why. But I knew, like, him going up for adoption like that was going to be a long road before that even would happen.”

At one time, while her brother was in foster care, she was not allowed to see him for nearly a year and a half. But she persevered, and eventually, Hannah and her husband adopted him when he was five.

What a beautiful story of love and kindness!

James 1:27 “Pure religion and undefiled before our God and Father is this, to visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.”

A young Pokémon fan’s day was made much brighter by heartwarming acts of kindness. Within seconds, the child received a couple of quick, unexpected acts of love and kindness. Watch the short and precious video of people showing a young man kindness.

It is impossible to have too much kindness and love. That’s not a thing that can happen. In fact, many would argue, and rightfully so, that we are experiencing an extreme shortage of both and are desperate for more love, kindness, gentleness and warmth.

People have the ability to treat one another horribly. This is on display nearly everywhere we look. Check out any news broadcast, and their lead story is sure to be something about a murder or some other violent crime. Social media platforms like X, formerly known as Twitter, are flooded with people posting some of the most horrible and disgusting things you’ll ever read, often directed at and in response to others. That’s why it comes as such a surprise when people are unexpectedly kind and decent to one another.

A sweet clip posted on social media shows people exhibiting kindness to a young man interested in Pokémon trading cards. The young man is just starting the hobby and is unsure what to do first. The video shows the young man, with his father, perusing a vendor’s collection at a card collector’s trade show.

However, the vendor surprises him moments after the little guy and his dad start looking. He gives him an entire collection, a book filled with Pokémon cards, completely free of charge. The young man is taken aback by the man’s move.

But that was not all.

Another man looking at that vendor’s collection overheard that the young man was starting out in the hobby and showed the child kindness as well. He handed the child’s father a “graded” Pokémon card, which was also completely free of charge. The young man who had walked off by that point returns to express his gratitude to this man.

What a beautiful and touching display of unexpected kindness that likely meant the world to that young man.

One mom had a tearful reaction to an unexpected show of support after her son’s autism diagnosis. The mother could not contain her emotions after what she found on her front porch. Watch the video to see what the mom found near her front door and the message of love and support that came with it.

Parenting, while being the biggest and best blessing anyone can experience on Earth, is not always an easy task. Children add so much happiness and joy to a household. However, not every day will be a reason for celebration. There will be some days and occasions that absolutely break your heart.

Every parent wants the best for their child. When things come up beyond a mother or father’s control, parents will start to question and doubt themselves. They might believe they are coming up short in the parenting department and may even consider themselves a failure. That’s when a little show of support and a kind, encouraging word can make all the difference in the world.

In a clip posted on social media, one mother’s son had just officially been diagnosed with autism. That would be an emotional day for any and every parent. Naturally, a parent would be scared and have a lot of anxiety and questions.

But as the woman shows, her best friend came through with a sweet show of support, leaving it at her front door.

Seconds into the 18-second video, the woman opens her front door to reveal that a small bouquet of flowers and a card have been placed outside her door. She opens the card and shows its beautiful, uplifting message to the camera.

“I’m so proud of the mama that you are today. You’re such a loving and caring mom. The kids are so lucky to have you. So proud of you and Kai (& Michael of course). Forever will be here for you guys. Love you. Take a deep breath. You’re doing great,” the card reads.

What a beautiful message at a time when that mother likely needed it most.

A woman found the sweetest, most heartwarming note from her elderly neighbor on her car. The cute letter shows how much he was concerned about her well-being during hazardous wintry weather conditions. Watch the short video to see and read the note the young woman found on her vehicle.

Arguments can be made as to why summer, spring and fall are the best seasons of the year. They all have many positives—the weather, outdoor activities and the food associated with those times of the year. Who is to say which one of those three is the best? It simply comes down to a matter of personal preference.

However, there is no question when it comes to the worst, least favorite season of the year. Winter is, by and large, the most hated time. Once you’re past the Christmas season, what else is there to winter besides snow, ice and cold weather? But perhaps the worst thing about winter is the often hazardous driving conditions.

In a clip posted on social media, an older man was concerned about a young woman getting out on the road during what appears to be recently fallen snow and ice. The man showed concern for her safety by leaving a sweet note reminding her to be careful and exercise caution while driving.

It was so cold that the note had become momentarily attached to her vehicle. After a bit of tugging and pulling, she removed it from the driver’s side window.

The note read, “This is ICE Not Snow. Little Gas and pump Brakes.”

The note may have been short, and after she freed it from her car, a little ripped, but it was so incredibly sweet. The older gentleman obviously cares for the young woman and thinks enough of her safety to remind her about the need to be extremely cautious when driving with ice and snow on the road.

A Walmart employee was recognized for helping a mom during a challenging, trying moment. He saw a mother needing help, and instead of simply watching and judging her, he showed her kindness and love. Watch the video to learn how the caring and empathetic man’s small act of kindness made a big difference.

Without question, children are some of the biggest and best blessings we can experience in life. They add so much joy and love, positively changing your life in every way imaginable. However, as every parent will wholeheartedly agree, not every moment with their children is a walk in the park or even enjoyable.

As the clip posted on YouTube mentions, a mother was in Walmart when she experienced one of these less-than-enjoyable parenting moments. She was in the popular retailer when her child, who has autism, had a meltdown. She had difficulty calming her son down, leaving her feeling embarrassed and overwhelmed. But in that moment, someone—Justin—stepped in and lent that mother a helping, loving hand.

So moved by what Justin did for her in that moment, the mother contacted a television station to alert them to his act of kindness. She wrote that he went “above and beyond” and was calm and supportive. She ended her letter about Justin by saying, “his kindness and support meant the world to me during this very challenging moment.”

Justin remembered the situation involving the mother and her son. As the father of a child with autism himself, he had an idea of what she was going through and how she must have felt at that time. He shared that after helping with her son, he gave her a hug and some sweet words of encouragement, telling her that despite how she might be feeling, she was a good mother.

The clip shows how a small act of kindness can make a world of difference to someone who is struggling or in need.

A kind waitress was moved to tears by an unforgettable gift from a grateful customer. The woman was caught off guard and taken aback by the customer’s touching words and gifts. Watch the short video to see the unexpected and beautiful moment unfold.

Small and insignificant acts of kindness may not be viewed by the person on the receiving end that way. To some people, a random, small act of kindness may mean the world to them. A warm smile, a friendly hug, a listening ear or showing someone a little bit of grace and patience may be the thing they need at that exact moment.

However, most of the time, we will never see how much our kindness means to someone else, which is perfectly fine. We shouldn’t exhibit kind, loving behavior toward others with the expectation of a reward. We’re called to show others the love of Jesus Christ.

However, a video posted on social media shows how much a waitress’s kindness, grace and patience meant to a mother. The restaurant employee’s kind act even inspired others to do something for her, and, as the man in the video says, “It put a lot of light out into the world.”

The short one-minute clip begins with the customer at the table, finishing his meal. The waitress walks over to the table, and he says he wants to talk to her and proceeds to ask her to sit down. The woman is, of course, a tad concerned. She thinks something bad is coming in her direction, likely a tongue-lashing about her service. 

But that is not the case at call.

He tells her that a few days before their conversation, she had helped a mother with a few kids who weren’t on their best behavior. He adds that instead of being short and dismissive to the mother and her kids, the waitress “treated her with dignity and kindness.” The waitress touched the mother so much that she took to Facebook to post about how the waitress treated her.

From that Facebook post, the man in the video went around to several people in the community, collecting money and gift cards, which he presented to the young woman.

As is to be expected when something so beautiful and unexpected happens, both have tears in their eyes by the end of the clip.

A heroic barista courageously stepped in to stop a robbery taking place right in front of him by physically taking down the criminal. The coffee shop employee acted without regard for his safety when he jumped in to stop the crime. Watch the video to see the brave, quick-thinking barista’s actions.

Heroes can be anyone and anywhere. They could be our neighbors, coworkers, friends, relatives or even someone we pass by on the street. We all have the potential to be heroes and to help others when they are in extreme distress.

Most people would agree that being a hero means taking decisive action in a moment of great uncertainty. Heroes are able to put their fear aside and courageously act on behalf of someone else. They provide others with much-needed assistance, even though doing so might result in them becoming injured.

A clip shows a young man doing exactly that for a person sitting in a coffee shop. The heroic barista’s actions were caught on camera as he raced in to stop the customer from being a robbery victim.

The criminal, dressed in all black and with his face covered, strolls into the shop, walks over to the customer, and brazenly attempts to steal their bag. Little does he know that the barista is about to foil his criminal plan.

Seconds into the video, the barista hits the criminal in the back with a cart. The criminal and the barista then get into a prolonged, violent physical altercation. At certain points during their struggle, the criminal sprays a substance in the face of the courageous barista. That substance turned out to be bear mace.

Eventually, the barista is able to get the criminal on the floor and, with the help of another customer, subdues him until police arrive on the scene.

The day after his brave, selfless actions, Nick Grant said he was “a little sore” and “still coughing out bear mace” but was OK.

A stadium full of people sang to a woman on her 100th birthday, which left her with tears in her eyes. The sweet performance of “Happy Birthday” moved the elderly football fan. Check out this lovely and heartwarming moment when thousands joined their voices to wish a woman a happy birthday.

Football fans are passionate, emotional people. They want nothing more than to see their favorite teams prevail on the gridiron. They will often adorn themselves in their team’s apparel, with some even going so far as to paint their body with their team’s colors.

It’s safe to say that unless it’s a hotdog or a bag of popcorn at the concession stand, fans are entirely concerned about what is happening on the field. Fans will watch, with hyperfocus, every play. They will also whine and complain about every call from the referee that goes against their team.

However, a video posted on social media captured a sweet moment when an entire stadium full of people took their attention off the field for a few seconds. Instead of being concerned about and focused on the next play, they used their time to make an elderly woman’s day.

Peggy, a University of Colorado football fan, was sung to by an entire stadium. It was her 100th birthday, and those in the stands took some time to sing “Happy Birthday.”

As the clip shows, Peggy was overwhelmed by thousands of people singing to her. Moments after the crowd begins singing, Peggy takes her hand to her mouth in disbelief. Seconds later, Peggy is brushing away tears from her eyes.

Not only did Peggy receive a special musical performance from an entire stadium, but as the video’s text points out, her team also won that day.

What a sweet moment that likely meant the world to her.
